Local editors were so enthralled with a fashion shoot for a current issue, they decided to put it on the runway. On March 14th Seattle Magazine is producing the first-ever retailer-focused runway showcase of outerwear. All innovative ideas are generated from experimentation and this show is exactly that. The inspirational photo shoot began as an exploration of what happens when two worlds collide: function and high fashion. The result is powerful, chic style.
The Forecast promises to present a unique blend of very fashionable and Seattle-centric outerwear looks. Pacific Northwesterners are accustomed to seeking out the most fashionable-yet-functional outerwear and rain-gear, and this event will celebrate on stage what we live 9 months of the year.
"Seattle’s wet and wild weather often presents a style challenge,” says Seattle magazine’s Fashion + Lifestyle Editor Kate Calamusa. “We want to face that challenge at our upcoming spring fashion show, marrying high style garments with outerwear layers to create our own blend of Seattle style—chic, fashion forward and best of all, weatherproof.”
Take a look at the photo shoot that inspired the event.
The Forecast fashion photoshoot was styled on set by Shannon Hopkins and Lily Karsten; Stylist’s assistant: Greg Simons; Photographer’s assistants: Noah Forbes; Cameron Karsten; Hair and makeup: Renee Majour/Celestine; Model: Vanessa Horn/TCM.
