Thursday, September 29th is the Grand Opening for the new Tukwila Value Village!
On Tuesday I had the privilege of styling the employees at this new Value Village store for their VIP preview shopping event. The idea was to have the employees wearing outfits from the racks all for under $30 each. They even wore big price tags showing the exact amount to purchase the outfit. I spent most of the afternoon trying different looks on them - everything from clothes and shoes to jewelry and accessories. They looked amazing and were really great sports and honestly, it was a lot of fun (not to mention a lot of work. Whew!)
This store is huge. It's huge! I searched up and down miles and miles of clothing racks, and my biggest challenge was the sheer volume of options. All the Value Village locations have great merchandise, in great condition and lots of options no matter what your style. This one, has twice as many options to weed through!
Aleah looked the perfect lady in her day dress, cropped jacket and heels.
"T" and TonTon were too cool for school in their designer brand jeans and tees. By the way, the halloween glasses with the fake tape in the middle was their idea!
Debbie was the picture of elegance in her black lace vintage cocktail dress and leopard print heels. (I don't think her husband even recognized her)
Gloria liked her outfit so much she was thinking of buying it herself! Trina Turk dress and vintage faux lambs fur jacket, with her own boots.
Heidi had lots of sass in this colorblocked, empire waist dress with kitten heels.
James is looking good in his dark wash denim jeans, leather oxford shoes and button down striped shirt. (again, the boys decided that those glasses would be a hit all on their own!)
Kendra's bohemian Free People dress with knee boots and a gathered cardi is totally on trend.
Regina is rocking a bold print dress with an empire waist, black tights and heels.
Sam is not all business with his gray wool jacket casually thrown over the dark wash jeans and screen print tee.
Victoria looks like one of Charlie's Angels in disguise with her little black cocktail dress and grey suede shooties. All while serving cookies!
William was too busy handing out goodies to pose for a photo, but I love this retro Pepsi tee on him. He had a graphic print hoodie on when the event started but I guess he got too hot with all the cookie serving.
I was unable to get this lovely lady's name because we dragged her into the modeling group at the last minute. There were just so many darn great looks, we needed another body! She looks awesome and rocked it.
The costume ladies were representing the Halloween section of the store. Are you aware of what a success Value Village's Halloween Department is?
These people cleaned up on opening night and got in line to pay for their two baskets of shoes!
It was a rousing preview event with speeches and cheering for Manager Jeremy and his team. We heard inspiring words from Ken Alterman, the CEO of Savers/Value Village, and Tom Everill, President and CEO of Northwest Center, one of the prominent local charities that benefits from the support of Value Village. The crowd of about 400 people waiting in line to get inside and shop were fired up and anxious to shop!
If you are looking for a bargain, make your way to the new Tukwila Value Village today!

Nice job Tina! Everyone looks fab. We went and bailed when we saw the line to get in...I'm sure it went quickly, but I just couldn't bring myself to walk all the way around the block to find the end...LOL We'll check it out soon!
