On Saturday, June 25th, I drove 87 miles round trip to meet the famous boys of Barn House Vintage Home & Garden...
Joe and Jermonne are the very famous "boys of barn house" - at least in the vintage market circuit. I first heard of them and their fantabulous events about a year ago. I was so excited to go and then I looked on a map. Two hundred miles each way is really too far to go in one day by yourself, so I missed that event. But I had no trouble with the 87 miles!
I met one of the vendors at Retreat Vintage Market who is going so far as to charter a bus for the next event. Sounds like the way to go if you ask me! I believe they even mentioned champagne on the bus ride down... check out the details at The Design Cottage Interiors. They leave from Gig Harbor at 630 a.m.
But for those of you who don't have the time or maybe don't like road trips, you'll be happy to know that they also sell online at Barn House Market.
The Barn House Boys have such an eye for visual display, it's absolutely arresting. Looking at these gorgeous grey fabric covered wingback chairs, raised up on the dark wood rustic sawhorse table and shielded from the sun by canvas umbrellas, I wouldn't be surprised if someone came along and purchased the whole display! It was so gorgeous, I had to take two photos.
These luxurious throw pillows (above) were made from recycled men's wool/cashmere suits. I touched them and it felt like I was giving my husband a hug! The display is so fun - the contrast of hay bales and gray flannel is a fantastic visual. Two of those pillows came home with me!
The thing that strikes me about my favorite vintage market vendors, is that they have such a distinct point of view. It's not just about selling vintage goods, it's about creating an inviting atmosphere that helps the customer see themselves in the display, and makes her stop and take a second look. Whether their style is expressed through the color palette or the individual items, you just know looking at these photos, "That's a Barn House display!"
What an adorable way to dress up your broom! I told them if I ever used one, I'd probably cover it with a skirt too.

These rock stars of vintage home & garden are gearing up for their next show July 30th. See below for details and find yourself a bus charter!

WOW! That sums it all up, really. Can't imagine how much time and care goes into creating that level of experience, and to do so when your inventory is constantly shifting blows my mind. BTW love the broom skirts, too!

I could have picked some useful things for a barn wedding here.
