about me
My name is Tina and I live with my husband and animals in a suburb north of Seattle. I started this blog in late 2007 as a companion to my independent recycled clothing line, glam.spoon. Over the years I've written about design, events, DIY projects, local and national brands, and charitable efforts.
My main focus is sustainable design. For my own clothing line I use primarily recycled materials to create one of a kind clothing and accessories. I also participate in competitions centered around unconventional materials, and support other artists who bring awareness to the mission of reduce reuse recycle.

glam.spoon began as a closet reorganization project. While browsing through my closet, I noticed a few garments hanging way in the back that I had never worn. I decided to really take a look at the reasons behind why I would buy something and not wear it. I retrieved my sewing machine from storage just started making small changes and before long I was deconstructing whole garments and refashioning them into something new. I had always been a thrift store shopper, but suddenly I was scouring shops for vintage materials and purchasing plain skirts and dresses that I would embellish until it was unrecognizable.
other contributions
When I started blogging I never dreamed I'd enjoy writing and reporting so much. Just a couple of years into it I started a PI Reader blog called Thrift Shopper to share my vast knowledge of the best thrift shopping in the Pacific Northwest.
I also write guest posts on friends' blogs from time to time, and in January 2012 began contributing fashion related posts to the online journal The Seattle Star. I've been fortunate to be recognized by both Seattle Magazine and Metropolitan Fashion Week with top blogger honors and nominations.
